The Village extends from the top of a hill at an altitude of 325 meters above sea level to an altitude of 270 meters where there is the ancient town (now rebuilt) and the original thermal spring.
The hillside is oriented to the south with perfect location of buildings, outdoor areas and swimming pools.
From the village you can admire the entire valley characterized by the natural park, ideal habitat for various species of protected animals and vegetation. This is typical of the Mediterranean. Suggestive also the background with the City "Etruscan" of Volterra and the adjacent hills crossed by dirt roads lined by cypress trees that make up the typical Tuscan hill landscape.

At the end of 1400, Leonardo da Vinci pointed to the village by the name of "Mumilla" testifies already existed. It is an ancient village dating from Romanesque consists of several buildings crumbling stone masonry and brick, and the Church of S. Frediano dating from the year one thousand. Today, some buildings have been faithfully reconstructed, a few others are still in a state of ruin and waiting for reconstruction. Near the village is a typical colonial building, once used as the mud constituting the oldest thermal spa (salus per aquam) of Gambassi Terme, now rebuilt and during reactivation.
